TWO WEEKS IN KANJI WITH VERONICA

In November 2010, Veronica Clark, the Chair of The Kanji Project, spent two weeks in Kanji. It was her fourth visit. She stayed with Maria Rayappan who founded the project 16 years ago.

Veronica joined Catrine Carpenter, a former trustee of The Kanji Project, who is spending nine months working as a volunteer at St Antony’s School teaching English to staff and pupils. There are several references to Lenci in the blogs. Lenci is a dear little three-year-old who was staying with Maria and Catrine. The Lourduthamy referred to in the blog is the manager of the children’s home, who also helps Maria with the administration of the Family and Community Sponsorship scheme.
