CHILDREN’S HOME
The children’s home is named Shanti Lumin which means Home of Peace and Light.
The first home in 1993 was a mud hut, which also served as the school, where ten orphan children were looked after. There is now a home 2 km from the school where more than sixty children from deprived backgrounds are cared for. Some have been abandoned; others may have lost one or both their parents. Illness, disability or unemployment can make it impossible for a parent to care for their child at home.
Whatever the reason for a child to come to Shanti Lumin, they find there a place of love and security.
